Art Deco Engagement Rings

What is Art deco?

engagement ringsArt deco engagement rings were born in Paris in the early 20th century, a eclectic artistic design style which has been very influential in many facets of decorative arts in the early part of the 20th century. At its height it was seen as something at its height of elegance, glamor and modern style. Art deco was originally in vogue during the 1920s and 30s, but since then it has still seen many resurgences in popularity and that is why such things like these have never really gone out of fashion.

What makes them special?

Art deco engagement rings are special because of the importance which emeralds, sapphires and rubies play in their design. During the early 1900s Colombian emeralds, Burmese rubies, as well as cashmere and Burmese sapphires were a must for a stunning wedding ring. These engagement rings have benefited from an explosion of influences, from king tut to the Paris exposition which have all contributed to make the art deco style what it is.

Nowadays Art Deco  rings have become harder to find making them more and more in demand and collectible. A wedding is a once in a lifetime event and getting a wedding ring which is not only valuable, but shows how special your special someone is to you is very important, something as collectible as an art deco wedding ring shows that more and more.
