Halo Engagement Rings

halo engagement ringsHalo diamond engagement rings are a popular choice for couples looking for a beautiful way to present their centerpiece diamond, the halo setting is great for that.

What is the Halo setting?

A Halo setting is simple, it is a a metal band which wraps around the centerpiece diamond and in the case of a circular diamond it looks like a Halo. It is most commonly encrusted with small diamonds (natural or man made). It makes the centerpiece diamond appear more spectacular and even bigger. The ring looks like a halo and therefore it is called a halo setting. A halo setting can be circular, square or any shape which matches the centerpeice stone. It can also come in the three-stone variety and is often popular with a split shank. Diamonds are by far the most obvious choice as the centerpiece stone for this type of ring, but other gemstones can be used too.

Price of Halo engagement rings?

A halo engagement ring can be very expensive or it could be quite cheap. Of course this will depend on the materials you choose to design it with. For example, if you choose one with a beautiful silver halo band encrusted with many smaller diamonds, a 4 karat diamond and a gold ring then you are looking at a price well into the thousands of dollars. On the other hand, if you were to choose a 2 karat diamond using a non-precious metal halo band encrusted with synthetic diamonds and a white gold ring then you can make it very affordable. Basically what I am saying is that the price is really what you want it to be (with in reason).

Where can I buy?

Halo engagement rings can be bought almost anywhere and even if you don’t see one in the Jeweler of your choice they can probably make one for you. Any kind of diamond engagement ring settings are very common and can usually be found without having to look too hard. I like looking online before I purchase anything though, prices online tend to be cheaper than you would find locally and you may stumble upon a bargain which could save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars. For example if you wanted to buy an opal engagement ring, buying it from an online shop in Australia would be much cheaper than buying it at home because opals are produced in Australia.
