Micro pave engagement rings are a more intricate type of pave setting engagement ring which I wrote about some time ago.
What is the difference between Micro Pave and Pave?
A Pave setting refers to an engagement ring setting which is literally paved with diamonds or other similar stones. If you think of a road which is paved with stones, then you should get the idea, the band is paved with diamonds. Micro pave takes this idea even further by using the smallest diamonds possible to create a beautiful pave setting which is so intricate that the diamonds look like they are one together. This means that the surface will be smoother, you will not see as much metal of the band and you will be able to create more complex and intricate designs, which is great because it gives you added flexibility when you are designing micro pave engagement rings.
Are micro pave engagement rings right for you?
When buying one of these types of engagement rings there are a few things which you have to give some consideration. Although the diamonds which pave the engagement rings band are extremely small, they are still diamonds and if you use enough of them it is going to really add to the cost of the ring. However, by using synthetic stones you may be able to make a relative cheap engagement ring using the micro pave technique. It is not only the cost of the diamonds you have to worry about when buying such a ring, it is also very demanding to make and as such will cost more. Just think about the jeweler who has to put each tiny stone on to the ring one by one, not the easiest task.
Price is not the only consideration when choosing micro pave engagement rings, there are some drawbacks which you should consider first before purchasing them. I personally don’t like this style of engagement ring because I feel that it is too ‘bling’ for me to handle, I don’t like the way that the smaller diamonds take the eyes gaze away from the center stone. I just think it is a bit too much, but it is only my personal opinion and your decision should be your own to make. Another thing which is important to consider is the delicacy of these rings. The small diamonds of the micro pave setting are stuck onto the band and therefore there is always a chance that some might fall off in the future and this will require expensive maintenance. It also means that these are the types of rings which you cannot be wearing all the time.
Where to buy?
Micro pave engagement rings can be bought in many places. If you decided to buy your engagement ring setting locally then you should have no problem finding a good jewler to do it. On the other hand, if you are doing it online then I would suggest somewhere like Jamesallen or Bluenile.
