What is vintage?
You may be asking yourself, what is vintage? Well vintage refers to style or design of ring which is either from the past or replicas ones from the past. Vintage can be said to be made up of three distinct parts: antique, estate and replica. An antique wedding ring is a wedding ring which is over 50 years old in age and it is designed in a traditional fashion. An estate ring is also designed in a somewhat traditional fashion but it lacks the age necessary to be considered antique, however it also has a certain amount of age itself. A replica on the other hand is a wedding ring which is designed in a traditional antique sense, but which is actually new. A replica ring is not a fake ring, it can be designed with materials even more expensive than the originals, but it will not be considered antique until it comes of age.
What is the difference between vintage engagement rings and wedding rings?
If you don’t know the difference between these two then you do not know the difference between wedding rings and engagement rings. I won’t go into too much detail, but an engagement ring is given by one lover to another when proposing (usually the man). A wedding ring is exchanged between the bride and groom at the altar during their marriage ceremony.
What styles of vintage wedding rings are there?
The most famous styles of antique wedding rings are art deco, filigree, Victorian and Edwardian. These are not all of them however and there is many more if you research. The best thing to do is ask the jewler you intend on purchasing from, what kind of styles they have and which are most popular.

Like antique engagement rings, vintage wedding rings are not the easiest thing to buy and it is unlikely that your local jewler will have any of note.
